Laundry?

I'm gonna try to focus on a little project at home and decorate my laundry room. Its a neglected little hallway of sorts on the way to the garage. So we come in and out of the laundry room many times a day. I want to paint it and get a new rug. I have that ugly wire shelf in my laundry room. but I could cover that with wide white grosgrain ribbon. Honestly I have a really dumb reason for why I've neglected this room. The faucet behing the washer is set above the washer. Its so ugly that I've always thought what is the point? If I could figure out how to hang little curtains above the washer and dryer I thought, but I think that would just look silly. Then there is my husbands sink. I was so excited about that little sink, to wash delicates or soak away stains. But he took it for paint and garage projects and its covered with paint and clogged with plaster. Its so ugly. I wanted to put a little skirt around it. On second thought. I think I won't decorate the laundry room because of those eye sores. This is where I always end up when it comes to the laundry room. But before I got discouraged again I was thinking of putting one of these cute signs on the wall. I was thinking LAUNDRY. Then as I always do when I look at this site I started thinking "shell we dance", or BEACH with an arrow pointing to the garage. Aren't they just too much fun? Cowboy take me away would be cute too. I have those pretty Shabby Chic baskets from Target in the white, pale blue and pale pink and the really pretty SC lined laundry baskets. Oh well.

Doing laundry is my favorite chore so I dream of one day haveing a large laundry room with plenty of hanging space, a nice sink and a large, high counter for folding.

Those signs are so all so cute. My parents have the best piece of folk art/sign at their house in NC. It's a big rustic looking peach and underneath is a sign that says "Pickers Wanted."

There are bocoos of signs just like those on Ebay. I've bought several! My favorite is "Down by the seashore...where life is a little easier".

I want a Martha Stewart laundry room! Right now I have a laundry closet and fold the clothes on a pool table! Maybe one day....

I was just looking at a catalog last night I got (one I've never gotten before) called Tender Heart Treasures that has tons of cute vintage-ish looking signs in it. You could order the catalog - it's www.tenderheart.com.

We bought this house because of the laundry room--it used to be a bedroom and frankly, it was love at first sight! (so much so that I ignored all the other ickiness of a 1964 house until it was too late!)

It's not like laundry will ever go away, so it sounds like a great idea...I love those signs.
